Yes we can


Yes we can.

Slogans that have become very familiar. With the result this week, all of sudden they don't just feel like hollow words.

The weight of expectation on the shoulders of President-elect Obama is enormous. However, at least the world can now look ahead with hope. The prices of renewable energy shares rose yesterday on the hope that the US will now be taking a path towards a low carbon society and a reduced dependence on oil. Let's hope Barack leads the US to sign up to a son-of-Kyoto next year in Copenhagen.
Change is possible, but it requires bold voters. The US electorate have been brave, we now need UK voters to follow their lead. Only by voting for people who care about the important issues, and are not embroiled in short-term petty party politics, will we move forward.
